We all need to disconnect, but we don’t really know how to do it. So why is it so hard these days?
The constant rush of work, endless stress, the phone screen always on, pending tasks, expectations, everyday obligations… So many demands that even in our moments of rest, we still carry the need to stay ‘on’ all the time, to keep everything under control, and to respond right away. But are you sure… “right now” can’t wait?
We live in a culture of absolute immediacy. Everything seems designed to keep us connected to everyone but ourselves. Pausing feels like a luxury or even a whim – yet in truth, it’s a necessity. Your wellbeing is the pillar that supports everything else in your life. It’s only when we give ourselves permission to truly rest that we begin to recharge the energy we so deeply need.
Sometimes the simplest things are what we need most, but we don’t always remember them. So here are a few tips to help you let go and enjoy fully:
1. Silence the noise: turn off notifications, put away your phone, and tell the world: “not now.” Use your time well, do what you love and really enjoy it.

2. . Sleep without guilt: forget the alarm clock. Rest is not wasted time; it’s the beginning of everything else.

3. Eat slowly: savour every bite in peace, without screens or distractions. Eating slowly is not just a gift for your body, but also for your senses. Chew mindfully and enjoy the unique aromas and flavours of Mediterranean cuisine.

4. Savour the moment: do what you love most, but do it slowly. Enjoy every moment fully. Read that book you’ve been meaning to or take a bath that makes you lose track of time.

5. Seek silence: listen to it. You may find it’s easier than you think… if you’re in the right place.

6. Don’t overload your schedule: holidays aren’t a checklist of things to do. They’re a space for doing nothing. If you’re someone who loves to plan, do it gently and focus on activities that nurture you and bring you real joy. What if you booked time for a massage or to watch the sunset?

The goal is to come back renewed, not exhausted. You deserve it!
